In recognition of the local and statewide Arbor Day tree planting holiday, a tree planting ceremony will be held at Indian Creek Park on Friday, April 24th. Members of the Versailles Tree Commission, 6th grade students from Versailles Schools, along with School and Village officials will gather to participate in the planting of a tree. Planting a new tree is an act of good faith and an attempt to make the community a better place to live. Trees will improve the environment; not just for the present generation, but also for our future generations of children and grandchildren. It is important for today’s generation of people to plant and care for trees and continue the rich tradition and presence of this wonderful natural resource. The Village’s Tree Commission consists of citizen members Virginia Moorman, Pat Gigandet, and Jeff Henry, Council representative Dan Weaver, and the Village Administrator Kyle Francis.
