Zoning permits are the only type of construction-related permit issued by the Village of Versailles. The issuance of a zoning permit certifies the proposed structure is in compliance with the use requirements (residential, commercial, or industrial), area requirements, and setback requirements in the affected zoning district.

In addition to zoning permits, persons performing construction, electrical, heating or cooling work, or re-roofing on residential properties in the Village are required to obtain a permit from the Darke County Building Regulations Office and have the necessary inspections conducted. Darke County Building Regulations now enforces the new 2013 Residential Building Code of Ohio and the 2011 National Electric Code of Ohio. If you are unsure if a permit is needed, visit the Darke County Building Regulations Office located in the County Administration Building at 520 South Broadway, Greenville, OH or call their office at 937-547-7379.
