The Village of Versailles works closely with the Darke County Community Investment Corporation (CIC), the Darke County Commissioners, and the Ohio Department of Development to provide local and state business incentives in order to create a friendly and economic environment for business and industry to expand and locate in this region. Depending on the size of business expansion, job growth, or building construction and or renovation, incentives may include:

Community Reinvestment Area (CRA) program, a real property tax abatement program for residential, commercial and industrial projects that take place within a CRA zone.

Ohio Investment in Training Program (OITP), provides financial assistance and technical resources for customized training involving employees of new and expanding Ohio businesses.

Ohio Job Creation Tax Credit, a refundable state franchise or income tax credits for businesses that create full-time positions at an Ohio facility.

State Tax Credit, Section 122.17 of the Ohio Revised Code provides opportunities for incentives in the form of non-refundable credits allowed against the municipal income tax imposed by village.

JobsOhio Research & Development (R&D) Grant Program, JobsOhio’s strategy is focused on nine sectors of the economy – Advanced Manufacturing, Aerospace & Aviation, Automotive, Bio health, Financial Services, Food Processing, Information Technology, Logistics & Distribution and Shale Energy & Petrochemicals. The R&D Grant Program will allow JobsOhio to make strategic investments in new R&D Centers that support existing and emerging sectors.  Examples of R&D Centers could include, among other areas of focus, Additive Manufacturing, Advanced Materials, Aero Propulsion, Smart Mobility, Biomedical, Carbon Fiber, Cybersecurity, Data Analytics, Financial Technology, Energy Storage/Fuel Cells, Internet of Things, Sensors and Unmanned Aerial Systems.

Village Assistance with Utility Connection Fees, provides discount opportunities for businesses meeting certain criteria regarding job growth and building construction and or renovation.
